Hilarious, scathing and accurate critique of Stieg Larsson’s best-selling Millennium trilogy.
I’ve enjoyed the movies so far, but am quite aware of their deficiencies; apparently things are worse in the original texts.
Janet Potter takes Larsson to task for massive authorial surrogacy, horrible prose and dialogue, poor pacing, and hypocrisy and oversimplification on gender issues. I’m willing to grant some lenience on the ways in which Swedish culture differs from the ubiquitous US/UK culture.
