Mirrors 2

Mirrors 2 is a sequel to the severely “adapted” English version of a Korean movie. After reading the excellent behind-the-scenes story of how Ridley Scott’s ego turned an excellent script into a humdrum movie, I’m extremely sceptical when directors rewrite scripts.

Anyway, Mirrors 2 is apparently very similar to the English Mirrors on the Korean movie in its setup. There is a brief, really fantastic scene of the inside of a mirror, bu otherwise the film uses a lot of disgusting gore, really painful-looking scenes, and cheap shocks to get its scares, which I consider pretty shallow. The morality of the piece is quite half-baked too.

All up it’s entertaining for an evening, but not a big deal.
