Fast Times at Ridgemont High

There are moments of minor irony in this film, but I didn’t find Fast Times at Ridgemont High laugh-out-loud funny. It’s a candid drama about a bunch of 80s high-schoolers that briskly features sex, masturbation and abortion, amongst nasty part-time jobs, framing another school for a crashed car, and lots of poor relationship behaviour.

It’s an interesting movie that felt like a period chronicle; I was struck by the 80s fashion and how young everyone looked. Also, I finally understood the reference in Fountain’s of Wayne’s Stacy’s Mom.
