The Fault in Our Stars

I’m not the intended audience of this movie, a teen romance tragedy based on a novel that hit #1 on the NYT bestseller list.

The movie concerns the romance between two kids with cancer, sharing a book and then planning to meet its author. The dramatic moments were decent though the main one was predictable; the main character seemed rather passive, and the main male character somewhat unrealistic. Willem Dafoe was excellent in his role. The film meditates on death and love, and there’s a minor subplot with the main male character’s best friend that’s a sharp contrast.
